According to CNN's sources White house Press Secretary Tony Snow is going to step down within the next month for financial reasons.
It's relatively early on a Saturday morning, so I'm not inclined to do much research, but I'd love to know how many press secretaries George W has gone through and how that number stacks up to previous presidents. It seems like there's a change every 18 months or so.
That's gotta be one of the worst jobs in politics. It sure would make me want to "spend more time with my family."

I cannot say this with any authority, but I heard some commentators talking about it when W. was re-elected. They said for all Presidential staff, 18 months to 2 years was the average life span beacause working in the white house was just so stressfull. They also said that, on the whole, Bush's staff has hung around longer than average.
What I heard was that Tony Snow was claiming fincinal reasons for stepping down. I find that hard to believe, he should have enough money put back to survie through to the end of the term when he can start pulling down the big bucks again. I think he got tied of tring to sell Moderate, wannabe conserative BS to the true conserative base (immigration bill anyone?). Thats my $.02
