I just got back from having a double root canal done at the dentist (work on both roots for the same tooth). I was expecting it to be one of the most uncomfortable experiences of my life but after 30 minutes in the chair and just one needle it was done and overwith. There was some mild discomfort and the usual smells from drilling but other than that it was remarkably painless. Keep in mind that the freezing hasn't come out yet but this is coming from a guy that usually needed 4 needles for a routine filling on PEI. Either I'm not as big of a wuss as I used to be or this dentist is really good. Knowing me it's probably the latter.
So if you need a dentist in Ottawa you could do a whole lot worse than Dr. Gerald Glantz on Beechwood. He's a good guy.
UPDATE
Close to 7 hours later and there's still no ain or soreness. The freezing has been out for a while so the worst that can happen now is that some bruising could set in I guess. Wasn't it supposed to be a lot worse than this?
Hey there:
Nice to hear you had a great experience at our office! (it's me, the CDA assistant).
A new patient was doing internet searches for the many dentists on the street trying to narrow down which one to choose. She came across the reference to Dr. G. in your Blog. Your positive comments brought us a great new patient.
Thanks!
Glad you are doing well :)
