Have you ever noticed that there are some products you have to buy by brand and other products where you go for the cheapest brand available? I'm not talking cars and stereos here, but grocery store/pharmacy type stuff- small run-of-the-mill purchases. Sometimes store brands will do, but other times they just don't compare. I need my peanut butter to be Kraft and my dinner to be Kraft. What products have to be brand specific for you? Here are some more of mine:
Pharmacy items:
Brand Specific- razors, shaving cream, anti-perspirant
Cheapest available- soap, shampoo, toothpaste
Grocery Store:
Brand Specific- beans, Kraft Dinner, peanut butter, Coke, potato chips if I have the money, frozen french fries, cereal, ketchup, potatoes (by province, not brand), salad dressing (I bought cheap caesar dressing this week- never again)
Cheapest available- orange juice, soup, cheese, eggs, bread, cookies, fish sticks (the cheap ones seem to be better than the brand names for some reason) nacho chips
I'd be more to happy to debate the merits of particular brands and products if anyone so desires. Its a slow day.
I'd only argue that Orange Juice should move up to the brand category. Have you tried Simply Orange? Best I've ever had.
