Sekai (the dog) has been a member of this family longer than I have. She moved in with Meg in the fall (or late summer by Georgia standards) of 2002. Saved from the pound, she's an unknown mix that most definitely includes golden retriever, and perhaps some Nova Scotian duck toller.
Eddie (the kitten) joined us at the end of September as a 4.5 lb, four month old kitten who had been well taken care of by the Atlanta Humane Society. This is the first time Dr. Meg has owned a cat, so I get to be his caretaker (and I named him- Prince Edward Island... Eddie... get it?).
So far the two get along pretty good, though Sekai still likes to chase Eddie and nip at him. As a tradeoff she lets Eddie drink from her water dish.
